I just wanted to say Thank You to so many of you who actually had some terrific ideas for me. Sorry you had to see that awful picture but I do appreciate the great suggestions! Nice to have such a supportive community.

Sorry for the ugly foot picture!
Sorry for the ugly foot picture! I obviously have a bunion and crossover toes (surgery this winter) but the WORST problem is the pressure from this on my pinky toe. There is a "crease" at the bottom of my pinky toe from whre it is smashed and this actually causes limping. I have tried toe wraps and an insert that bound my two toes (fourth toe and pinky toe) together but was too painful in my sneaker. I am traveling to Portugal for a vacation in October and am looking for a temporary solution. I would have surgery sooner but I am only paid when I work and cannot take off now. I am thinking perhaps an orthotic that can lift my pinky toe from under the others but do not know if that exists. Any/all ideas are appreciated! Thank you in advance.

I’d try a toe spreader, get the pressure off of that toe
Sounds like a dumb question, but have you tried toe spacers for when you're at home and not on your feet. . . even while sleeping? Mine aren't nearly as bad as yours, but I've been doing this and believe it is helping some.
For the crossover I use lambswool, it's soft, you can use as much as you need. I've tried so many things, this is the best for me
Definitely No Bunion here, but my baby toes do curl under my ring-toes. My feet are stuck in AFOs (Ankle Foot Orthotics) Brace🙄 Being able to get Orthotic Insoles; what a fail😔
Wear 4E extra wide shoes, buy toe spacers to walk daily and start wearing a bunion corrector every night for a few months, like braces for your teeth do these things and they will start to be straight and your pain should be greatly helped
Be sure your shoes have enough space so your toes can move when you wear them. I wear extra wide but with the orthodic I also need a pair with a deeper than average toe box. APEX and NB seem to carry this style.
I wouldn’t buy any toe spacers from Amazon but I’d suggest correct toes from their website! Only wear about an hour a day and increase the time and NOT in shoes to start until you’re comfortable wearing them out of shoes. Whether or not you use them you need a wide toe box shoe. Depending on other variables from the correct toes website they have a lot of suggestions for shoes, sadly they’re all zero drop like lems, xero, Altra etc I have Achilles issues so can’t wear those, if you don’t they’re all great. ON Running has great wide toe box shoes that aren’t zero drop and can wear with correct toes once you’re ready.
Try a wide toe shoe. May take some pressure off. Amazon has some.
Have a great time, Portugal is awesome 😎
Just ordered a new one form Amazon. Thanks!
hope it helps
Thanks so much!
I only tried them in shoes and that was obviously not so comfortable - I just started using them at home - and I will try at night. Maybe that will help until surgery. Thanks!
try just putting a spacer between your big toe and next toe in your shoe. That will take a little pressure off the others through the day.
Thanks, sounds like a good idea!
Oh my! And I thought you were saying your feet are stuck AF lol !! I guess we all have our issues. I'm hoping some type of orthotic may help...
A better pic of my AFOs!
Wow! I have not had anything like that. That's why I am doing the surgery. I just need to wait until the winter when my business is quieter.
orthotic insoles seems to be quite common these days ... Poor quality of shoes I guess🤷🏼♀️Hot &/or Clammy weather makes things worse ... Swollen, Swollen, Swollen😒
that's my 3rd Left AFO & my 1st Right AFO. If I wait till the Fall my benefits should cover 💯% for new ones. I'd be happy with ankle replacements; ball & socket kinda thing.
I will try this, thanks!
Thank you for letting me know.
I will check this out thanks!
Thanks, that will help I think but I need to get that pinky toe lifted from under the others. Hoping the can take pressure off. Thanks!!!
I get my orthotics custom locally. They always need adjustments. They adjusted while I wait. And much faster to get.
I have a big bunion and upsteps hurt me MORE because of it they are too tough for bunions to walk on imo
I wondered about that. I think I will just have to get through until surgery with my toe separators - not perfect but not worth spending money on what will not work. Thanks for sharing your experience.
