Multiple ingrown toenails: could your sandals be the cause?

Archive date 15 archived replies

Thankfully, I've managed to keep my PF at bay. I do my toes to the nose exercises every morning before getting out of bed and I wear my birkenstocks as indoor shoes. However, I fear that my birks have caused me to get ingrown toenails. I've already had to have the ingrown toenail removed on my big toe. Buy now my second and third tow on the same foot are also bothering me. I have also had some really badly cracked heals. My question is, can anyone recommend a sandal that I can use as an indoor shoe? Something with really good arch support, a flat, wide toe bed and some cushioning at the heal?

Use castor oil each night to fight the cracked heals. Maybe also a humidifier.

I wear these in the house. Wouldn’t be able to walk if I didn’t. I love them!

I was using deep heat cream on my foot to help with pain but found it softened my cracked heels a treat!

I love these. I got them to wear inside. We have ceramic tile floors and I'm pretty sure that's what caused my pf by walking barefoot on them. These sandals are a game changer!

OOfo slide. Run one size large.

If you like Birkenstocks you will not like Oofo. They are too soft. I like these. They are firm but very supportive.

Why can’t you go barefoot indoors?
