Well I went to the podiatrist as all my friends encouraged me too and it was as I suspected. He had no good ideas for why my entire feet hurt when standing for a prolonged time. Nothing more than take Advil and try different shoes. Didn’t even suggest stretches to try or anything else. Exactly why I NEVER go to the doctor. What a waste of $50 I could have spent on a foot massage! Ha! I appreciate you all here. I did buy Oofos for the house and so far they’re much better than the slippers I was using! Thank you all!

They’re all useless, just in it for the money

Isn't it crazy how you can have such foot pain and a doctor that specializes in JUST FEET cannot tell you what's wrong??? It's MADDENING! I have been to 6 podiatrists in the last 7 years and neither can explain my bilateral debilitating foot pain. I had to quit my job over it. It's in both feet c'mon! I totally feel your frustration! Oh and oofos are number 1 in my book😅

So sad to see no help. At the same time sad but makes me feel a little better that it's not just me trying to help ourselves and Dr's and ER brush us off like we're making it up or need a drug fix.

Cutting out acidic items from my diet was HUGE help. And yes, that means sweets made with sugar, chocolate and lots of other things... 😭😭😭 Also many more foot exercises. i am almost back to normal feet

Thanks Beckie! I have gone to a podiatrist referred by my attending physician and he offered shot, shoe inserts, surgery and orthopedic shoes. Nothing about exercise or weight. I am exercising my sore foot daily using stretch’s and a ball under my foot. I used the shot but it would speed up my heart and finally concluded these guys are just milking me for fees. Losing weight gradually too!

Most podiatrist don’t know anything other than how to charge for a toenail trim.

Probably need to see somebody else. Their not all perfect got to basically shop around to find one you like sadly

Just reading your post makes me think of what my podiatrist also said when I had pain in both feet (started almost six years ago now). Anyway, very long story, but because I looked like the picture of health and I was complaining of pain in both feet no doctor ever considered what turned out to be the cause of it. Sometimes where the pain is felt, isn’t where the problem is. Try Googling this condition…there is surgery to correct if you have it…it’s called Spondylolisthesis

It seems like everyone in this group has some serious wear and tare on their feet. The podiatrists really don't help people leaving many to still be in pain and wonder what's the next step in trying to get help. So far I've found out that going to Google my symptoms in my feet helps to find out what kind of pain I may be experiencing. I also like receiving info from many of you that helps me figure out what to do or not buy to help my feet out. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

The Healing soles helped me

, you sound like me! 6 podiatrists, 3 foot orthos, five pair of overpriced custom orthotics, dry needling, acupuncture, PT, stretching, many, many brands of shoes, massage…. And yes, Oofas around the house!

Look into this condition…sometimes where the pain in your body is felt, isn’t where the problem is. This turned out to be my case! Took doctors 5!! years to diagnose it correctly. it’s called Spondylolisthesis. There is surgery to correct it if you have it. Be sure doctors have ordered the x-rays where you are standing up, and standing sideways and bending over…my MRI looked good, but that was because gravity while on the MRI table was pulling my L4 into alignment.

Doctors are required to take ONE nutrition course for their training, as far as i know. They are not trained in the effects different foods have on the body generally. Their training is in mechanical function.

yep almost exact same story. I've even had multiple shots in my feet and lower back that did nothing. 6 months of PT, 3 sets of orthotics and on and on. Just saw an orthopedic surgeon who now wants to refer me to a rheumatologist 🤦‍♀️ so frustrating.

I had a pediatrist offer me vicodin. I say NO THANK YOU! Who wants drugs that can destablize your gate when you're having trouble walking in the first place??

but when you're putting hundreds and thousands to pay for Drs and er you expect something. Maybe an xray? I can't keep calling off work, lose my job, my living etc. I'm on my feet over 8 hrs a day on concrete floors full time. I need to be able to function and live. There is a difference on when you need med vs them actually trying to find out what's wrong.

You might want to try pt too

Crocs are also great for indoor/outdoor slides and are cheaper than oofas

Try Hoka shoes. Be sure to get a person who fits you and do not order on line and try collagen double dose for two weeks then regular dose there after, vitamin D. Worked for me!

Community comment#24

Gotta love Oofos. I’ve got them in every color and style.

Community comment#25

Yeah, that’s awful.

Community comment#26

KURU skippers are excellent as well. I highly recommend Hoka sneakers.

Arthritis? My podiatrist ordered an MRI of my bad foot, which showed significant arthritis. He said that surgery is an option to “clean it out” and fuse a few bones. I’m putting it off for now because I have a few more pressing health issues to attend to first, but then will definitely resume considerng the surgery.

I got totally ripped off by NW Foot and Ankle. $200 for a Zoom consultation. I was so desperate, they taking advantage. HTF can you diagnose FEET on a Zoom call? Oofos saved me for standing, Bare Traps for walking, not in pain like I was but still not right. Best is elevate, ice, massage, soak, rolfing if you can endure the pain it helps.

I went to one foot dr and he was a jerk. The next one I saw/see is wonderful! She takes her time explaining everything! Icing my feet midday has made it possible for my shoes yo stay in my feet all day at work. At one point before icing, I’d slip on slippers midday.

I was told that there is no solution to my health issues only managing them, but contacting Dr. Roman changed everything. I was successfully treated and cured from back pain, foot pain & Chronic urticaria after using his herbal medicine you can also give it a try. Clink the link below to contact him on his page. 👇👇 Dr Roman herbal home

I ordered on line because I did not know which shoe to get for my foot problems The first ones I ever got they don’t make anymore the second pair I purchased were not right for my foot issues, I bought them in a shoe store So the 3rd pair I called hoka, told them my issues and they recommended a pair They are my go to’s besides hoka In a shoe store it is rare to find someone that knows a lot about foot issues and shoes to get Besides hokas return policy is excellent

I got my 2nd pair on line because there's more choice in my size. I did go to the store to try them on again to make sure the size felt right but my arches have been bothering me on TOP of my foot so I tried a wide and it's made ALL the difference! I have the Bondi 8 and LOVE them and am waiting for my Upstep insoles. In the past I used cheap ones so fingers crossed!

I just got my first pair. I had to get the wider ones, because they don't make the narrow version and a slide. But, I love the footbed so much, that I am going to glue a piece of foam inside the upper strap part. I guess my next pair will be some of the thongs, since those are the narrower ones.

Ross carries BareTraps and so does the website Shoemall.com They're comfortable if you get the right one or style of the shoe to comfort your feet. I'm waiting for my Oofos to arrive.

I use topical diclofenac for my back pain, and also a lidocaine roll on from amazon. Sometimes, I think about putting those on my feet, but I don't want to wait for them to dry. I guess I'm just lazy.

I've found that the vast majority of female doctors are MUCH more patient and listen MUCH better than the men. At the ripe age of 70 I now look for females ALL THE TIME.

actually, it's not laziness in my case either, I have severe pain and fatigue, so I actually did just go and get my lidocaine roll on and a white paper towel and went back to my hospital bed where I hang out all day, wiped off my feet which weren't that dirty to start with, and put the lidocaine on. Now I'm waiting for it to drive. It's just like the whole thing. There is a spray, and I might get that from my feet. We'll see how this goes.

no, I called me lazy, because I was being too lazy to type out what I really am, which is in pain and totally fatigued all the time, lol. That's on me, not you. 💚

I am with you there, sadly. I too am a chronic pain patient that suffers from pain fatigue and exhaustion 24/7 I had a failed back surgery and recently diagnosed with hashimotos among other things. No fun at all Hang in there
