Today is my 5-week footaversary!

Archive date 37 archived replies

Today is my 5-week footaversary! Feet seem to be coming along after bilateral minimally invasive surgery (all 10 toes were operated on). Photo was taken post shower, but feet were rebandaged, thanks to hubby, and I’m back hobbling in my surgical shoes and bandages 24/7. Next week is my 6-week x-ray and…if the surgeon gives the green light…I can move on to Hokas and socks. Woo hoo! I attached a pic of my lovely pre-surgery feet as well.

ohhhh!!! You’re already Hoka-ing!!! Lucky you!!! I have two pairs of new Hokas waiting. One is my size and the other is half a size bigger. I’ll wait to see which size I can wear, then return the other. Are you driving yet???

oh yes. Driving since the medical shoe. Not a lot but I could not just sit still. 😆 I too have two pairs of hokas.. Can't find the ones at half size bigger. Bought seven and a half & then found out.I was actually a seven 🤦‍♀️ bought the correct size.. packed a bunch of things away for and now I have to find them.

Wowwwww!!! Driving!!! In the real world!!! One day I’ll get there (she says, wistfully). It’s funny that we’re both Hoka-ed up. I never wore this brand before - not my cup of tea, style-wise - but gotta pamper these new feetsies of ours.

YES! it was pretty darn freeing! but I only had the left done and didn't need it to drive so wasn't in my way 🙂 Bought the Hokas for work because I needed wide with & good shoes, bit the bullet, not my style either. But I work walking all day on concrete floors and WOW! no more foot pain. Fell in love no matter what they looked like. I bet 3 quarters of my building wears them. Hope you have a good experience as well! I see your ankles are wrapped. Is there a specific reason for that? mine hurt sometimes, wonder if that would help.

no idea why the bandage finishes on my ankles. It’s all part of my surgeon’s special bandaging technique. My husband and I are following his instructions to a T. Maybe he just wrapped the extra gauze around my ankles post-surgery because he had extra and we’re continuing to do it for nothing! 🤣

I also splurged and got Hoka “slippers” for around the house. I haven’t tried them yet obviously. They have the same type of rocking toe. https://www.hoka.com/.../vibrant-bloom.../1162810.html https://www.hoka.com/.../vibrant-bloom.../1162810.html

I'm a radiographer so I'd be dying to see the xrays 😆 They will hate me when I go cause I will want to see them every time! 😆

Thank you so much, my partner in bunioning! I’m yet to go out…or get on a boat…but we’re getting there!!! 👣

Community comment#34

Hello I’m glad I came across your post! I had both my feet done almost seven weeks ago and all my toes worked on as well 😃 glad your doing well and your feet look PRETTAAYY😍

Community comment#35

... May I ask? Why did you have to have all 10 toes done? Was it due to a bunion? But congratulations and I wish you continued success on your journey

Hello may I ask how your healing is going as of now ? Are you able to bend your toes ? Is the swelling down
