I have tried literally almost everything to help heal my feet from plantar fasciitis.

I have tried literally almost everything to help heal my feet from plantar fasciitis. I had 3 steroid injections 2 of them worked temporarily. I have done PT, gone through multiple types of shoes, certain creams and castor oil, dry needling, the stretches and foot exercises foot compression sleeves, toe spreaders, arch supports, night splints and I have yet to have more than 3 months of relief in about 6 years. I was wondering if foot and calf massages and acupuncture would be good next steps in trying to heal my feet?? Any information will be helpful!

Strengthen your glutes and hips….get to the gym….the seat supports the feet. Only thing that worked for me in both feet at separate times.

Anti inflammatory diet to reduce inflammation in your body. Worked for mine.

You sound exactly like me, I had it for almost 3 years and tried everything. I had surgery in March and things are going well! Still not completely pain free but getting there!

I finally got answers when I got an MRI. My neurologist finally ordered it for me. I found a new podiatrist and things are getting better. Among other things, the MRI found tendinitis, a torn tendon, bursitis, fasciitis, arthritis and a Morton’s neuroma. PT has not helped. I wore a boot and heel casts. Got custom orthotics from a cast by the podiatrist. Yesterday got a shot for the neuroma. 🙏

I got rid of mine after having it on and off for 20 years. It’s achievable

The calf and foot massages along with the stretching & strengthening exercises are extremely important to heal from PF. A healthy diet along with vitamin supplements and plenty of water are also important. The right footwear is also necessary to heal. Nightly Epsom salt soaks, castor oil massage and elevating your feet are also helpful for increasing blood flow to the fascia. These things were all part of my daily recovery routine and I was healed in 11 weeks.

Stay positive you just need to find what works for you . For me a massage gun to the bottom of my feet for literally an hour an evening was the key to helping me . And cutting down on carbs and refined sugars. If I eat badly for a few days my feet hurt !!!!

If you are looking to try massage, find someone skilled in myofascial release. It hurts LIKE A BANSHEE but I’ve been making slow progress after four sessions.

Get an MRI as you may have a tear. I tried many things but wearing a boot for a month finally cured me.

I have done pretty much everything you have including acupuncture and I’m still in agony. Mine is getting progressively worse. I did find acupuncture relieved it but only for a short while. I really don’t know what else to do.

this 100%. Issue is ppl don’t do it because it’s too hard. Or they want that magic gimmick or shoe. Strengthening is that magic.

When you're laying down, prop your feet up on pillows so that your feet are higher than your heart. This will increase blood flow.

Look up Dr. Stachiak at Mid-OH Foot and Ankle and watch his videos. He is worth flying to for chronic PF.

I totally feel your frustration because I'm in the same situation I am now trying to manage as best I can some days are worse than others I find if I don't move and exercise as much I suffer the next day but it never really goes away

Community comment#24

Went to doctor yesterday. I am going on 4 years. Good days bad days. I asked him about all of these treatments people do and he said I could try them but will probably waste $1000 trying them. Started back on steroid shots. He uses ultra sound to make sure he gets the right spot. Work with your doctor and if you are not getting answers..get second opinion. I have decided that I will always have some issues but I am greatfull I can walk and not in wheelchairr.

PRP injection is finally what worked for me.

Massage helped me greatly.

Focus on getting to the gym and strengthening your lower body. And get back to barefoot walking and zero drop shoes.

Community comment#31

Get a shiatsu massage cushion. You be fixed in a few weeks.

Community comment#35

Your feet are a system result not the cause.

Community comment#36

I have been doing a peptide blend and I think it's helping.

Community comment#37

Have you seen a specialist to get an ultrasound/MRI to make sure nothing else is going on?

Community comment#38

Same situation. I decided to have the surgery. I couldn’t walk anyways so I figured I’d do the surgery and be done! Had it done in late April so too soon to tell but getting better each day…

Reduce weight by 10%. Guaranteed relief.

6 years! I’d look into gastrocnemius recession surgery. Low risk. High reward.

Community comment#43

How many dry needling sessions did do? Was it in the plantar faciia?

Wear this whenever you are sitting AND while you sleep 👍 United Ortho Plantar Fasciitis... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CD185S3...

United Ortho USA12033 Plantar Fasciitis Adjustable Leg Support Brace Fits Right or Left Foot for Soreness Relief, Foot Pain and Stretching, Small, Black

A lot of different ideas for sure. start with isometric holds. Meaning raise the arch of your foot while standing (or sitting -keeping your foot on the floor..still raising your arch). For 30-45 seconds. If you have no pain doing that. Do 1 more set. Go to a wall (barefoot) face it lean forward as far as you can wihout falling into the wall.. pressing your toes into the floor hold for 30-45 seconds. Start with 2 sets if it doesn't hurt. Toe yoga is good to do while sitting. Do that for a week. Up the set the next week and 1 more set the week after that. For a total of 4 sets. I use a sleep boot too. But see how you fair after the isometric hold exercises. If either hurt stop. Try it sitting down. If they still hurt. I would see a doctor. Collagen and vit c.- ask your primary if it's safe to take. May be beneficial for your fascia at 80 years old -(congratulations) That's huge milestone. Best wishes

I can't go barefoot any more as I have developed fallen arches so I need support. I went to a physio that specialises in biomechanics / feet and I've gotten a lot of relief

Research BPC-157 peptide. 1.5 years of PF pain. Now pain free after close to 3 months of subq injections.
