A couple of weeks ago I went to Italy to the amulfi coast, for those of you who know its very mountainous with tons of steps and a lot of uphill walking. After a couple of days I definatly felt my calves where stretched. And a day or two later my pain had gone down to practically zero. So basically I attribute it to walking a ton uphill plus tons of steps. The pain went from 8/10 to close to nothing.

I'm glad that worked for you 🙂 what worked for me was my husband using the massage gun on the back of my calves and massaging the arch of my foot the heels of my foot the sides of my foot under my toes with the massage gun with the ball on the end. That little lump is gone now I didn't even know it was there, I did a lot of walking before I got plantar fasciitis.. It's been 2 years and no flare-ups .. if it starts to come back I'm pulling the massage gun out

How painful was walking? What type of shoe

Community comment#5

Yes!!🙌 I have been more pain free after weeklong hiking vacations and using my feet! Push through the pain as long as it’s under a 4 my doctor said

Yes ! Definitely noticed that when I climb stairs it makes a big difference so I do that in the gym

Yes because the facia (?) Under the foot goes up your calves and they reckon we should massage our calves and do calf stretches. Look up on youtube for exercises

My Chiropractor told me I need to start walking uphill.

Same for me, I went to Italy, and it fixed my feet!

Really. Thx so much for sharing this

I was wearing regular shoes with insoles that were made for me, they are mediocre, not great. The first night we landed in Rome and I was in agony after walking around. But as I said all the steps and uphill in amulfi i believe stretched my calves.

I agree, I just got back from a trip from Paris to Rome with a week in the middle traipsing around Tuscany and the steps and hill climbs somehow kept my PF low pain too.
