Has anyone ditched their custom orthotics and had better luck with other store bought insert like steppers or Dr schools or others ? My custom seem to cause more pain to my left foot. But I’m sure I still need something for my hyper mobile arch

Yes the orthotics was what made my plantar fasciitis worse, at 100% made it worse

I ditched my custom orthotics and got orthofeet shoes and my pain is just about completely gone.

Yes, in the beginning I was using orthotics in my shoes but after the bad pain was gone, they made my feet sore so I switched to Dr. Scholls. Much better. Now I wear Altra Paradigm 8 shoes without adding insoles and my feet feel wonderful. These shoes have a wide toe box and zero drop to help the foot get back to normal.

Powerstep has made a huge difference for me. Doctor told me this was the best option by far. https://lvnta.com/lv_ukGSxoQZfLZLXv4pzM

Did you talk to the one who did the casting? mine was the same because my pain on my right and left foot have different locations. My PT sent it back to modify it. She said we have 6 months to modify the orthotics. But overall, my orthotics has helped me.

after reading these comments I don’t think k I will be paying out of pocket for custom ones

Community comment#7

Yes. No more custom. I wear Altras with the insoles that came with the shoe. It took a year to adjust, but my feet have never felt better. Been 8 months pain free now.

Community comment#8

8 used powerstep insoles for high arches while strengthening. I rarely use them now.

Community comment#9

I use ProTech Powerstep. These were recommended by podiatrist. He uses them himself. I put them in all my shoes

Yes, I bought 2 & wasted money Dr Scholl’s better

about 2 years. My left foot quit hurting after I started going to the doctor, but I couldn’t get the right one to quit hurting no matter what I did. I’ve got 3 different styles of the orthofeet shoes and that’s all I wear now.

do you switch out the insoles every time you switch shoes or did you buy several pairs of the powers tops? If you take out the insoles that are currently in a pair of shoes, could you put them back if the powers tap insoles didn't work out? Thanks for any tips/advice, I've never used insoles before. I have heard great reviews about PowerSteps, both in this group and in real life.

Couldn’t wear either. Fine without

No returning them so was just curious what helping everyone else the most.the exercises made my foot hurt worse. I bought wrap around arch of foot feels alot better koprex for pf!

I tossed the custom made and got powerstep.

I have had 3 pairs of custom orthotics made (one by podiatrist, one by pt, one by retail) and none work as good for support as superfeet. however, I'm ditching orthotics and transitioning to wide toe box zero drop shoes via massage, stretching and exercise. . Third week and I feel my arch strengthening.

Yes...

Just tried Steppers didn’t work for me.

Community comment#24

According to Dr Angela Walk on You Tube she said to take the inserts out. Not needed I never know who to believe anymore

Community comment#25

A year & half ago I spent on very expensive orthotics thinking to align my walking & posture due to aging. To my regret, PF started to develop after a year and worsen and in March this year I was diagnosed with heel spur! .With most of the comments shared here with experience, I can be very sure that it cause me pain then later developed with PF..My regret for life. Painful & expensive lesson .

Community comment#26

I like my protalus better than my custom inserts

Community comment#27

I like Vionic insoles. But maybe talk to your orthotist or podiatrist about modifying the custom ones?

Community comment#28

Steppers!

Community comment#29

I had custom made and can't wear them. They are so HARD, so I ended up with Topo shoes that have an arch and added Dr. Sholes for PF
