Hi all. Has anyone had MIS with no hardware. I've been trying to get in touch with my surgeon as there was no information provided post op. I'm almost 3 weeks in and struggling with anxiety over keeping this foot safe. The surgeon said nothing should touch it and I live in a busy house with kids and dogs and I'm not a sitter so have been up doing things since the end of week one. I'm also really clumsy with poor spacial awareness. I've had a few times my foot has come into contact with something like my crutch or the stairs as I'm getting up then and I feel so anxious about it not healing right. I don't see the surgeon until early next week but it says x-rays at 6 weeks which bothers me if it's not healing right I don't want to wait to learn that a 6 weeks. Any busy parents been through this and had similar worries? Thanks Hi all. Has anyone had MIS with no hardware. Any suggestions for a shoe/sneaker slide that I can use in this transition phase? My foot is swollen and even my “ wide” shoes/sneakers don’t fit. TYIA Shared post Carmon Watson Hello all! Shared post Jill Scheppler I’m considering MIS without hardware. I understand the healing of the bone occurs while you have the bandage wrap on for quite some time. Can anyone share results after several years of having the surgery without hardware? Shared post RadiantHedgehog6099 I am getting bunionette surgery in November. Has anyone gotten this? What can I expect? Were you able to wear normal sneakers a month or two after surgery? Shared post Renee Weaver I have a different question here. We're not born with bunions and I don't know if any children that have bunions. From a little bit of research, which a lot is contradictory, it looks like it could be a muscle issue that is not holding the bone in place. To me it looks like if our foot was a plastic skeleton and we could manipulate it, we could move that bone back in place naturally and not by surgery. I just don't understand the theory behind cutting the bone, and then sticking pins in it. Couldn't there be a device that could push that bone back in place over time?
