Home and well. 6 hours - in and out! VA medical team was awesome. So far no pain except no feeling in toes yet. Bedrest x two weeks. First follow up visit in one week. Pain meds, ibuprofen, Tylenol alternation. Aspirin starting tomorrow. Feeling optimistic. May be an image of hospital Shared post Nancy Cobb Smith Knowing that everyone’s need and preference for a good shoe for PF and other foot issues vary I learned that I need a rocker bottom shoe/sneaker and harder soul. I have PTTD (posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, )so a squishy sneaker I can wear for a while but not for a full day, too much stress on my tendon. I love my Hokas but unfortunately I don’t quite get the support I need. I pronate and a squishy sole pulls on my tendons. I do have Oofos and like them. I found a rocker bottom orthopedic shoe, not expensive but surprisingly well made called Oude. They have the rocker bottom which I need as my right toe doesn’t push off well now. It also offers a firmer soul and a thick platform which I like. The tie up sneakers are my favorite. Not a box toe but have lots of room which was a pleasant surprise. Just wanted to share this with others who may need a firmer sole and have tendon issues as well. I thought KT tape would help, not really. Tried different applications. Silicone toe spacers and heating pad is what has given bits of relief. Last time cold helped. This time a soft ice bottle sorta helps, a sturdier water bottle frozen with half isopropyl alcohol and water. It stays liquid (long time) and rolls easier. Reading posts and not feeling alone in this again has really helped. Some types of compression helps a tad. No creams help. Both times two Telic styles help(ed). I better pull out the vibration plate and my trusty red light therapy tools. Thanks for listening. 💜💜 Frustrating to have PF returned after 7-8 years. I thought KT tape would help, not really. For those of you wearing Birkenstocks what style do you have? For you who like the Oofos do you find they fit tight across your foot? The reviews I’ve read people are saying they fit too tight.
