I have been reading all these posts and looking for help so figured I should also share my experience. I was hit with PF in college running distance for xc and track in a d1 school. I did all the protocol for that time period, 23 years ago, but ended up getting a cortisone shot and custom orthotics. That healed me and for 22.5 years I walked and ran with zero issues always wearing custom orthotics.
