Looking for some advice from other sports parents!
I have a very athletic 12-year-old son who was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis about two years ago. We’ve done all the things… stretching, inserts, different shoes, etc. and he still continues to have pain, primarily in both heels.
I’m currently waiting to get him in with a podiatrist, but at this point I’m starting to wonder if we’re even dealing with plantar fasciitis.

1. Does a massage gun help you in any way?
2. What are some recovery activities do you do after walking or standing or playing sports or just being active?

So far I have tried: stretching, a splint, frozen water bottle, icing, massage gun, tiger balm, 3 different orthotic inserts, orthotic flip flops, not walking barefoot in the house, lidocaine/menthol patches, ibuprofen, and the gel heel cups and compression socks in the links below.
The heel cups and socks are the only things that have really helped me. I’ve been wearing the socks for the past week
