So today I went to see a podiatrist .
So today I went to see a podiatrist . I got a Cortizone prednisone, lidocaine combined shot in my heel.. Heall pain is caused by severe bruising from plantar fascist in my arch. Over 2 months of horrible crazy pain. Shot wasn’t too bad considering the pain I’ve been struggling with. Not I have to wear my night splint every night… use ice bottle cold daily after working not 1st thing in morning. Take naproxen… oh and yes do foot calf stretches as much as I can throughout the day and before bed. Can use heating pad at night morning. Have another appointment in a week evaluation and probably another shot. My new shoes are ok but he said something about needing arch insoles. I bought some awhile ago . Not sure about having something pressing up into my arch in my shoe, being on my feet all day. Maybe without compression socks my arch would be perfect. Reason I decided to go was because my other foot was starting to give me problems. Hopefully it will improve. These shoes have made walking more doable. Lots of cushion thick bottom slight wide toe. Sketchers air code Goga, Matt wide fit tennis shoe.. it has a cushioned insole. I can’t stand shoes with hard insole. Feels like I am walking on a a brick in my shoe. ugh

Careful with sketchers. New balance 1080’s have cushion and my podiatrist recommended them. Also Brooks are good. 👍
That’s seems awfully close together for the shots
Night splint will do Nothing except keep you awake!’
Aetrex danika orthopedic support sneaker.. made for plantar fasciitis..forget everything else . Have arch support and soft heel. Easy returns prime if don’t like. Recommended by orthopedic doctor.
I went into the DSW store to look for OOFOS I hear they are good for feet long standing work days. I’ve seen them online but not buying another shoe unless I can see and touch. Of course DSW didn’t have any. So I went through entire store feeling inside the soles of shoes. I love my Clark flip flops they seem to be the most comfy out of everything. Ended up with the sketchers and Adidas cloud which I haven’t tried yet but in the store, they seemed OK good like the Sketchers cushion Goga Mat shoe. I put them right next to my bed to put on immediately before my feet hit the ground…so I can get out of bed to function… like a cloud perfect.
think my Brooks were the culprit. I believe he is pretty sure shot today along with the naproxen twice a day proper foot stretches and frozen bottle foot roll after work will work. Another shot may not be necessary.
do you have the night splint ? The doctor seemed to stress using it every night.
I'm debating the shot as well. Can I ask your opinion on it. How did it feel and did you have any after effects or limitations?
His wife came in and joked with me about Christmas life events to help take my mind off the shot. He numbed it with a light topical and then sprayed to icy freeze stuff on it before shot. It wasn’t to bad and it was quit. Not sure I feel much different right now. He gave me 500 mg of naproxen to take twice a day. Stretching as much as you can throughout the day too help your calf muscles loosen up. As well as icing your foot after work recommends. It’s been 2 months for me I think it was time. Sure I put it off too long It wasn’t getting any better. Make an appointment and go it’s not gonna make it worse. Many of my friends swear by it.
I did the shots and they only helped temporarily. I hope it all works out for you! 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks I tell everyone it’s a cruse. 😢 A lot of people on this sight been suffering along time.
I suspect Brooks caused mine, too. First expensive tennis shoe I ever bought. A couple months later, the PF started. Never had any foot issues prior to that.
Yeah my Dr does them only every three months.
Maybe to evaluate if I don’t feel any better. He seems pretty confident between the shoot and proper stretching of the foot along with naproxen and cold ice roll at night I should see improvement.
Orthofeet has very good cushion. I recently got Orthofeet Sahara sandals and Dart sneakers. Game changer for me.
PT is helping me a lot. Im going 3 days a week and doing my exercises twice every day. I wear my splint when im watching tv. I have also started biking at the gym. I bought a pair of Brooks adrenaline for walk about and a pair of Kuru Cloud house slippers . I am just starting to feel a bit better. Be sure to stretch before you get up from bed, sofa, chair etc. I also take a declofenac 75 mg if the pain is too bad. My therapist said that once you have PF and get it manageable, you always have it.
I spent 120 on ortho feet slide on. Tried wearing them 2 times. Standing at work all day was horrible. I am on my 7th pair of shoes. Yesterday’s shot seem to help a little. Today I’m trying to my Adidas cloud they feel comfy. Using an arch wrap on one foot and compression sleeve on other. Mornings are usually do about but by mid afternoon I am hating life struggling. It’s ridiculous.. Hopefully today will be good. Staying positive. lol Glad the ortho feet works for you.
