My feet were hurting all day today from the time I woke at 5 till right now. My calf muscles are exploding and wind relax no matter how I stretch . My podiatrists answer is I need to stretch my answer is I’ve been dealing with this for 20+years. I think I need a new plan

Tight calf muscle

I walked 2 miles in the house without shoes on, and the floor is hardwood on top of cement. It's absurdly hard.

Community comment#6

Mine was brought on by the trauma of learning to walk again after a horrendous wreck that destroyed my legs

Community comment#7

Tight calf muscle def part of mine but since having my last baby my hips have been out of whack and I’m sure that plays a part too

Community comment#8

I think mine started with a hip injury, then two pregnancies.

Community comment#9

Tight hip flexors and psoas muscles.

Community comment#10

Hip replacement dec 2019, feet issues never once started feb 2020

Community comment#11

walking barefoot in Florida 50 years

Community comment#12

Tight calves.

I’m very active... runner, exerciser who abuses her feet. Quarantine in my bare feet on wood floors is what I think brought it on.

wtf knows

I didn’t develop it until AFTER a total knee replacement. Started walking again after recovery...realized my leg is “straight” where once it was bowed out. I believe my different body mechanics with the NOW straightened leg meant I was using the foot differently PLUS the muscles in that leg were altered a bit. 95 or so percent better today than it has been and strengthening exercises in that leg (thanks Frank!), mindful placement of my foot while walking and good orthotic in my shoe while I am strengthening is really helping.

I was a hairstylist from 19-22. Then gained weight/office job from 22-25. Then lost weight but started wearing heels regularly. It seems like once I stopped wearing heels, I had my first flare up. I think wearing heels actually delayed the onset.

I started taking omega & 500mgs magnesium at nite & it’s helped so much & then I also bought Birkenstock’s My foot pain is GONE.

Hormones!!! I read that as you enter menopause the lack of estrogen affects the elasticity of the connective tissue. I was put into menopause surgically and that’s when mine started. So for me it’s definitely the reason I have PF. Plus the weight gain does not help.

Being on my feet almost constantly.

Food for thought:For everyone's "cause" why are there hundreds if not thousands of people out there with the same "cause" that don't have Plantar Fasciitis? I thought about this, even simplifying and relating it to me and my workmates that live similar lives. I got my answer and fix.

Community comment#23

PF is an overload issue, something, at some time overloads the PF. That’s known. What the cause of that overload is is multi factorial.

I edged the lawn (using that tool you push with your foot like a spade) wearing shoes that were too thin and thought I had just injured my foot from doing it...2.5 years later here i am still in pain...

Community comment#25

I’m interested to hear from the people who put thyroid down. I too have a thyroid problem (Graves Disease). Why do you think this caused your PF? Are these two things related some how?

Community comment#26

My one from hiking with heavy ankle weights , not once but gor a long period like 1 year

Community comment#27

Started doing short 20 min runs in Cheap Trainers! Would love to be able to sue Donnay Sports! ruined my feet ☹️

Community comment#28

My pf started soon after I came back from holiday in Cyprus. We were relaxing, going for walks, swimming. A week later bang!!!!

Community comment#29

Sketchers

Community comment#30

I believe mine came from not stretching before I ran. Last time I had a PF, I didn't stretch either.

Community comment#31

Coming off knee surgery recovery and upping my mileage to quickly while running. Yep my own fault. Won’t do that again.

Community comment#32

I think its from working a job on my feet for 10 plus yrs.

i have had an underactive thyroid now for 22 years, so im quite sure it didnt cause my PF. On the other hand i am now menopausal, and people seem to think theres a link there.

Plantar fasciitis (heel pain that is worst in the morning) is also common among women in midlife as loss of estrogen affects the elasticity of the thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes.Jun 25, 2020

By product of having a broken ankle with copious amounts of metal hardware inserted, then 18 years later having that hardware removed. Then being the support leg for 5 months when the other ankle and leg was broken🙄
