This group has been so helpful to me so I decided to share my experience. Picture is of foot after Topaz surgery. I have had PF for about a year. I also have bunions. In February I had a bunionectomy on one foot and Topaz surgery on both feet. It has now been six months and I thought I would give a review of the Topaz surgery. At first it was very painful. More painful than the bunionectomy! It took weeks to heal the 25 holes I had in each heel. About 6 weeks after the surgery I had a really hard time walking. It was almost unbearable. I talked with my Podiatrist and she said healing from the bunionectomy was throwing off my posture and possibly making everything worse. She said give it 6 months. My PF is definitely better now. Almost gone in one foot. But I am not 100% sure it was the Topaz surgery that helped. Like most of you I have spent hundreds of dollars on shoes and products to help my plantar fasciitis. Ultimately, for me, I think correcting my anterior pelvic tilt and poor posture are what have helped the most. I wear night splints also and I am very careful how I position my feet when sitting. I find sitting in the car very painful. I have a foot rest under my desk and that helps a lot! I have also worn Crocs almost exclusively for the past couple months. They cushion my feet and give me relief. Exercising and stretches have helped as well. I am not completely healed but I feel I am getting close. My right foot will go hours and sometimes almost all day without pain! See less

Holy crap. I’m honestly terrified of that kind of bruising, that’s the kind that hurts to the bone and beyond. I’m such a sissy about my feet now because they hurt, I can’t imagine that.
