This Shoe Mistake Makes Plantar Fasciitis Worse If you’ve bought multiple pairs of “supportive,” extra-cushioned shoes hoping this next pair would finally fix your plantar fasciitis… You’re not alone. I talk to people every single week who’ve done the exact same thing. They were told that the softer, squishier, more supportive the shoe, the safer it is for your feet. But, If those shoes were going to heal your plantar fasciitis, wouldn’t they have worked by now? Over time, those shoes do the opposite of what you want. They restrict natural foot movement They reduce muscle activity And they slowly make your feet weaker And weak feet don’t heal. Most people don’t realize that supportive shoes and orthotics might give you temporary relief, but they don’t fix the root cause. Real correction comes from restoring how your foot was designed to function: Shoes that allow your toes to spread and move naturally Daily mobility work to release tight fascia and calves Progressive strengthening of your feet and lower legs I break this down in my latest YouTube video: Cushioned Shoes Are Making Your Plantar Fasciitis Worse In this video, I’ll show you why supportive shoes can keep you stuck, and what to look for in a better shoe Bottom line: Strength + mobility = lasting relief All my best (and then some), Dr. Angela All reactions:

Comment as Justin Linda Byram posted to Plantar Fasciitis Talk and Tips Support Group All-star contributor This is an email I regularly receive from Dr. Angela from YouTube…she has saved me MONTHS of pain… 3 Mistakes That Trigger Flare-Ups If your plantar fasciitis has flared up again, that's usually not by mistake. I know that feels frustrating. You were making progress. Things were starting to feel better. And then, out of nowhere, it’s back. Things to consider: Flare-ups are rarely random. In most cases, your foot was simply asked to do more than it was ready for. And I see the same 3 mistakes over and over again… 1. You tested the waters with your “normal” shoes Things were improving, so you thought it might be safe. You slipped back into those cute shoes sitting in your closet , but they still have the same damaging features: narrow toe box, elevated heel, too much support. Your foot wasn’t ready for that yet. And it let you know. 2. You ramped up your activity too fast Less pain makes you feel like you can do more. So you walk longer, stand more, maybe add workouts back in, but your foot hasn’t rebuilt the strength to handle that load yet. So it pushes back. 3. You got a little inconsistent with the program You skipped a few days, maybe more. Figured it wouldn’t make a big difference. Staying consistent with your strength and mobility work is everything. This is what actually rebuilds your foot. This is what increases your capacity. Without it, your foot stays vulnerable. Keep this in mind. Feeling better isn’t the same as being better. Pain going down doesn’t mean your foot is fully healed. It just means it’s tolerating what you’re currently asking of it. Real recovery happens when your foot is strong enough to handle more, without flaring up. So if you’ve had a setback recently, Don’t panic. Just get back on track. Build your strength. Progress gradually. Stay consistent. That’s how this gets better… Dr. Angela All reactions:

View 1 reply Comment as Justin Linda Byram posted to Plantar Fasciitis Talk and Tips Support Group All-star contributor So, a fellow groupie - Jenny D Walker - has been posting videos with her doctor who does the EWST therapy, a very high level of shockwave. Touted as a “one and done” procedure for PF. Done with freezing and under ultrasound. I have found out the procedure is not available in Canada, and going to the states (airfare) for the procedure ($3500US) and hotels ($$$$) is not for me. But it is because of her that I went searching for some… See more All reactions:
