UpDate: it’s been 2 weeks since my surgery
And I promised I would give an update throughout my recovery so here we go. I got my stitches out yesterday it was painless, I am in a small boot the one you see in the pictures below I am allowed to start bearing weight slowly using my crutches and add weight as I feel comfortable. I have to sleep in a night splint. Over all this far my recovery has not been too bad and my pain has been very minimal I do feel some pain now as I put weight on my foot but I just do it slowly a little bit at a time. My feelings this far is so far so good I’m glad I did the surgery. Thank you everyone for the support I really appreciate it.
Hi everyone I’ve waited to make this post because I wanted to give a real honest opinion/update I had surgery on Friday the 20th Plantar fascial release. The actual surgery took about 45 minutes it was done as an out patient. I was sent home with aspirin, pain meds, my foot was wrapped and in a small boot. They done a nerve block to help with pain control for the first 24 hours. My instructions were to be non-weight-bearing for two weeks Elevate and ice to help with swelling Also to do leg raises knee bends and toe stretches open and close nothing too hard just very gentle exercises ,they sent me home with crutches which so far have been the worst part of this surgery I’m very independent and used to doing things on my own so it’s hard to ask my husband to help me with things. I was told I could change my foot wrap and take a shower on Monday which was yesterday so about four days after surgery I could shower. I only had swelling on day one so I did use ice all day Friday into Saturday after that I’ve not had any more swelling. There is two small incisions on either side of my foot a couple stitches on both sides and very little bruising. I go back in two weeks to get my stitches out and I will probably be able to start bearing weight on my foot we will see so far what I feel seems to be promising only time will tell if the surgery was a success or not but so far I’m happy I made the decision to go ahead and do the surgery. I hope this helps anyone who has questions about the surgery this is just My experience with it so far. See less
