Why are birkenstock so good? Do sandles have the same impact

Why are birkenstock so good? Do sandles have the same impact? Shared post Vinai Dhanraj Just recently confirmed I have PF and the podiatrist recommended changing my footwear first before going down Orthotics and cortisone shots and shock therapy of whatever Can I ask for those of you who are still active what footwear do you wear daily for 1. Activity like walking and playing with kids? Even running and daily trips to the park or store 2. Office attire as i do have a sit down job behind a desk 3. Casual hangout She did recommend new balances and asics but not sure what to get of if there are other brands. She also recommended indoor slippers as my home is tile, hardwood and vinyl Right now, I just feel confused as I dont want to give up being active with this thing and I continue to research treatments and things that have worked for others Anyone try any insoles like steprrs or whatever? I've had two shockwave treatments (the high intensity kind), several rounds of PT, tried all the braces, stretching, scraping, massaging, etc. and cant get rid of PF in my left foot. My doctor has recommended PRP, but I'm hesitant to throw more money down the drain... Thoughts? Shared post Autumn Betts What do you all recommend to have for surgery ? Shared post Jody Brill Has anyone gone to a chiropractor to treat their PF? I was talking to someone yesterday who said he saw a chiropractor for 4-5 sessions and he has been pain free since (which has been years). I plan to look into it but wonder if others have had success going with this route. Shared post Karen Anderson Has anyone tried tuning forks and frequency healing to help with the pain? Yes, I’m at that point. After very expensive orthotics that only worked for a month, wearing a sleeve every day, and the podiatrist trying to sell me a $600 boot, I’ll try anything. What are the alternative therapies? Shared post Heather Scott At what point do people decide to go with surgery? I’m going on 17 months with PF. Two podiatrists, every splint/brace/boot/insole/tape, lasers, stretching, shots, you name it. I had a heel bone contusion which has since healed, and I have bone spurs. I used to run marathons and now I feel like I will never be able to walk without pain again, let alone run. This has been devastating to my physical activity. Please tell me there’s a way to fix this! I should also add that I take a statin, and I recently read this could hinder my healing?? At what point do people decide to go with surgery? Shared post Vito Rullo Hello everyone I joined this chat because I honestly have no idea where to go anymore. I’ve been to 2 different podiatrist. They both say that I have plantar fasciitis. I’ve had Cortizone injections on both of my feet. I went to physical therapy for two weeks. I wore night splint for two months and I’ve done the frozen water bottle trick along with the lacrosse ball, etc. and for some reason, nothing is working so I just went to an orthopedic and he gave me a couple shots. Three weeks later my pain is back. I am not understanding what’s happening, but I do not think I have plantar fasciitis and I did an MRI and I don’t think that says it was plantar fasciitis. I think it says it’s a bone spur however, my orthopedic doctor refuses to accept bone spur. Is there anything I can do to fix this? This has been going on since last October. I’ve had plantar fasciitis since last December. Earlier this year I underwent shockwave therapy, but unfortunately it made my symptoms much worse. I now have heel pain throughout the day rather than just first thing in the morning. I’ve also had custom orthotics made, as I have lower arches and overpronation, which is contributing to the strain on my plantar fascia. My next treatment options are either a steroid injection or PRP. As I’m really looking for pain relief and there seems to be more research supporting steroid injections, I’ve provisionally booked one for next month. However, I’m feeling quite cautious because I’m concerned about potential risks such as heel fat pad thinning or other complications. My first MRI mentioned heel fat pad oedema, but my most recent MRI doesn’t mention any heel fat pad atrophy. It shows chronic plantar fasciitis with inflammation, and my consultant feels either a steroid injection or PRP would be appropriate. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who: * had symptoms worsen after shockwave therapy but then improved following a steroid injection; * has had a steroid injection for plantar fasciitis and found it helpful; * or, on the other hand, experienced any complications or worsening after a steroid injection. I’d be grateful for any experiences or advice, as I’m trying to make the most informed decision possible. Thank you! Hi everyone. I’ve had plantar fasciitis since last December. Tried orthotics, medications, done all the exercises diligently but no relief. I’ve been told I have adhesions and they needed to be ‘massaged’ out before I should get new orthotics. It was so sore I feel like my feet are bruised along with the pf pain. I can’t go through it again. As a teacher I’m on my feet most of the day. Apart from using a spoon to massage, what relief can I get from this pain? Ps can’t get cortisone shots cause of autoimmune diseases and allergies. Been suffering for almost 6 years in both feet.
