Those of you who have opted for toenail removal (in the US)

Those of you who have opted for toenail removal (in the US), did you your podiatrist do the removal or was there a referral to a surgeon? I think I'm going to have to go that route, and just wondering where to start. ArticulateStrawberry3582 This September marks two years since my first visit to the podiatrist. I started with laser treatment—initially for nearly a year—but it didn't work. Then I stopped going for a while due to personal reasons and waited until March of this year to resume treatment; I was prescribed terbinafine for six months, and I’ll finish taking the pills in a month. The first pic is from September 2024, and the second is from today! I didn't experience any side effects with the terbinafine. I got a medical pedicure (for $210) and the lady said I should come back for a toenail brace to help flatten the nail. She also said I should massage the tip of the toenail everyday to help it grow out better. The cost for the brace is $370!! I don’t have money for that. The podiatrist I’m seeing has never mentioned a brace. Have any of you ever used a brace and had success?
