For those of you trying to use Claude assistants in your agency, this post is for you. Giving my team this tool might be the most dramatic thing I've ever done for our efficiency, and we're only getting faster. I know there is a learning curve, so hopefully this helps those of you who are interested wrap your heads around it. First and foremost, you should set up an Organization account. This allows you, as the admin, to control connectors and skills running on each of your team's computers. You can also set guardrails and such here as well to keep data safe. Once you've done that, you'll be able to set up your connectors and skills. Connectors are basically secure connections to MCP servers for certain apps. Skills are a set of instructions that tell the AI how to respond to certain prompts. By setting it up this way, your skills and connectors can work in unison for your team. Think of it like this; Every skill can use every skill and connector, and every connector can feed data back and forth with every skill. So, for example(s); Prompt: Generate a proposal for these quotes [pdf attached] and send it to John Smith. The AI can then handle this from cover to cover using skills. It starts by pinging the Proposal Generator skill for its instructions on how to generate a proposal, then the brand kit for colors and logos, then Hubspot to collect the user's email address, and then Gmail to draft the email with the proposal to the client. Prompt: Generate a flood insurance quote for 123 ABC Lane. The AI takes the address and looks at the Flood skill. The flood skills tell it what variables it needs to do a quote. It then uses the property data skill to collect that info, then returns to the flood skill to generate a quote. Prompt: Requote John Smiths home and auto The AI looks at our Comp Rater skill for the variables it needs. Once it knows, it hits HubSpot and pulls the client and policy data it needs. It then uses those variables, hits our rating skill and returns rates. The basic idea is you can built out a suite of AI agents (skills) that can complete complex tasks in your agency.
