Hello everyone I joined this chat because I honestly have no idea where to go anymore. I’ve been to 2 different podiatrist. They both say that I have plantar fasciitis. I’ve had Cortizone injections on both of my feet. I went to physical therapy for two weeks. I wore night splint for two months and I’ve done the frozen water bottle trick along with the lacrosse ball, etc. and for some reason, nothing is working so I just went to an orthopedic and he gave me a couple shots. Three weeks later my pain is back. I am not understanding what’s happening, but I do not think I have plantar fasciitis and I did an MRI and I don’t think that says it was plantar fasciitis. I think it says it’s a bone spur however, my orthopedic doctor refuses to accept bone spur. Is there anything I can do to fix this? This has been going on since last October.

Hi all, hoping someone can help here. I developed PF in left foot , after healing my right foot. Shock wave worked on my right foot but left foot it is making symptoms worse for five days after the shock. I have pain under outside ankle bone, and Achilles pain. Any clue on how to treat this one? The other foot was typical PF and behaved well with shock. This one is not behaving and podiatrist said most experience relief straight away - for me it’s worse initially Thanks for any replies

Hi everybody . If anyone is experiencing or has experienced plantar like this please let me know because I’m second guessing my diagnosis and scared it’s fat pad atrophy About 6 months ago I started having heel pain and I was like oh no is the PF in my left foot ? I had it in my right about 4 years ago. It went away and then 2 days later came back and has been with me ever since. Been icing and doing all exercises for PF and then gave in and went to my orthopedic surgeon ( who gave me a PRP shot in my right and healed me ). No testing was done except an xray and it ruled out all abnormalities that an xray can show . The pain is when I lift my toes back, it feels like I’m pulling my insides not sharp just very tight. At times when I press in the inner part of my foot it hurts but also at time the outer part and the heel is where the pain is mostly . When I walk it hurts . It’s there in the morning and does go away a bit and then it flares up at times and when I sit for a long time it hurts and I limp. It feels like I am walking on a black and blue more than a sharp stabbing pain but don’t hurt just sitting around , though at times the inner part can burn . It hurts when I stand on the floor to do yoga and warrior pose and lunges ( so I stopped for now). My Dr told me plantar can present itself different ways to people . I have an appointment with my podiatrist Friday and asked for an ultrasound but I am scared to find out the results because I’m scared of atrophy. Has anyone experienced the heel pain in the back bottom of the foot ? Thanks everyone

Here’s another question;
How do we know if we have heel pad syndrome or plantar fasciitis? I am 58.

My fourth and final shock wave treatment is in a couple days. Feeling some relief. My podiatrist would like to do a PRP treatment next. Anyone have good results from shockwave followed by a PRP injection?

So, It’s been two months now that I have heel pain. When it started I went straight to physical therapy. But quit after a month as itvwas making it way worse and also spread to my ankle and calf.
Now I want to see a doctor and see what they say. Question is who do I see? A podiatrist, orthopedics, foot and ankle specialist?

I have been dealing with PF for about 7 months now and it feels never ending. I went to a podiatrist 3 months ago and got a cortisone shot, it worked for about 6 weeks and then the pain came back much worse than before. I have now developed a small bump the size of a marble on the arch of my foot near the heel and is painful. Has anyone else developed a bump like this?

My podiatrist put me in a CAM boot for a suspected small tear in my plantar fascia for 3 weeks. I just got my boot Friday. I feel like my pain is worse since wearing the boot. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis. I got PF last October at the same time I was diagnosed with Graves as well, unusual, but maybe not so much, a thyroid condition that basically has thyroid go bonkers. Told endocrinologist I got PF, they didn't say anything. Did all the exercises, massages, oils, soaks, you name it and it didn't go away. Went to two podiatrists. Told them I'm dealing with thyroid issue and feel they are connected, didn't say anything. I was given steroid injections and no real course of how to take care afterwards. I just feel like no one really stops to connect things and really treat things properly. We are all here trying this and that, but bottom line, if we don't find out what is really our particular problem ourselves, we could be doing more damage. I finally had to go research and learn more about thyroid hormones and tissues in the feet. Things that are suggested for PF are actually not good with the condition. Steroid shots can actually make things worse and certain exercises need to be held off. No doctor, endocrinologist or podiatrist, ever stopped to think I should know these things. So I'm thinking I've made my condition worse and may have actually done more damage. So if you have hashimotos, make sure you look into what physically is happening and take care of your own health because doctors aren't doing it like they should. So now I'm using the Kolrez sleeve to protect the tissues when working taking off every four hours, and not do any weight bearing exercises for awhile. Podiatrist said I could run in a few days! I am adding a little article in comments on Hashimotos and PF. I may not really heal until I am fully recovered from Hashimotos/Graves....

Even when_y thyroid test levels are "normal," you may not have optimal thyroid function, and your thyroid may be contributing to your Plantar Fasciitis symptoms. Your thyroid doctor may be able to recommend an adjustment to your medication to improve your thyroid levels.'. Hypothyroidism even mild cases of subclinical hypothyroidism is associated with edema in the hands and feet. Edema is swelling that results from fluid accumulating in tissue. Fluid buildup around the nerves in the plantar fascia can trigger plantar fasciitis. Tendons are also rich with receptors for thyroid hormones. When you're hypothyroid, the tendon's thyroid receptors may be shortchanged by a lack of sufficient thyroid hormone, increasing the risk of tendon- related medical conditions known as tendinopathies -such as frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, and plantar fasciitis.'
