Forming a joint stance and common bond, could really help strengthen things. Doesn’t look so much like us vs them. Perhaps a joint venture T-shirt project. Joint signs for both towns? Maybe this has already happened, just throwing that out there. I would be happy to help fund a joint campaign of signage or shirts.
